Georgia will leave you speechless. It doesn’t matter when you are digging into its famous khinkali or admiring the soaring mountains – everything here spells beauty. What is truly amazing is that Georgia is still rather untouched and manages to retain its original culture and tradition in a way that is truly admirable. The people are warm and friendly, the food is simply amazing, the countryside is dreamlike – and the wines! Oh, what can we say! There are over 300 varieties of grapes here, so you can imagine just how much the locals love their spirit!
Anything you dream about in a holiday, you will find here. Skiing? Tick. Beaches? Yes. Caves and Monasteries? But of course. Shopping and thermal baths? Tick again. Didn’t we tell you how Georgia encompasses the best of everything you are looking for in a holiday!
So ready for your Georgian holiday? Wonderful. Now let’s give you the highlights so you can make the best of your visit here!
First things first…
Tbilisi is vibrant and happening
Experience adrenaline rush at Gergeti
Gergeti is another world- in the sense, you get the feeling of being completely in the outdoors, amidst gurgling streams and mountains. It gives you the feeling of timelessness, peace and harmony. The scenery here will leave you speechless. If you find yourself here, make sure you climb up to the Trinity Church. The walk will take a few hours – but the breathtaking view at the top will be worth it or you can take a jeep ride.
Ski in Gudauri
On the way to Kazbegi (now Stepansminda) you will arrive at the town of Gudauri surrounded by snow-clad mountains. This place comes alive with skiers in winter (we suggest you book in advance) and chairlifts hum with activity right through the day! Snow is soft and powdery and is paradise for skiers. A little further away, is the Friendship Monument – a beautiful coloured circular wall overlooking green valleys.
Sip wine in Khaketi
Whether you are a wine lover or not, sipping divine wine in the Khaketi region of Georgia will leave you wanting more. Sipping divine wine. In fact there are several wine tasting tours (and quite popular, we assure you) that takes you on a tasting tour where in you can taste a few hundred varieties! After you have had your wine, relax in Sighnaghi, a city of love and vineyards. With winding, cobbled streets, old fortification walls and towers it creates a distinct Mediterranean feel – and an incredibly romantic atmosphere along it.
