ENGLISH is barely spoken in Montenegro. However, there are locals who can speak Basic English in tourist centers. It would be smart to try and learn the basic local MONTENEGRIN language. This will be surely appreciated, another way to get around this is by downloading an offline translating app or dictionary. Lastly, keep spoken English simple and easy.

Montenegro enjoys FOUR SEASONS throughout the year as follows:

What kind of clothes to pack?

Haggling and bargaining are not existing norms in Montenegro. However, this is still encouraged in case tourists are hiring an unmetered ride or a private car for the day.

Restaurants will not typically foot service charge on your bill. Hence, adding a 10% tip on top of your total would be definitely appreciated. Taxi Drivers would also appreciate small tokens of gratuity or simply rounding off your fare.

Power plugs and socket
Montenegro uses Type C and F power plugs at 230 Volts and 50 Frequency. Bringing power plug adapters is advisable.

Tourists will commonly find local sim cards with ready network access at major airports like Podgorica Airport (Aerodrom Podgorica) or Tivat Airport (Aerodrom Tivat). There will also be SIM Cards available at official Chrogorski Telekom (Telekom Montenegro), Telenor, and m:tel stores or authorized dealers.
Firstly, present your passport upon purchase of a local SIM Card. Some of the more common options for example, include Crnogorski Telekom (Telekom Montenegro), Telenor Montenegro, and m:tel Montenegro. They can cost starting at 5 EUR

Prepare preferred over-the-counter medicines. Keep them in original containers with labels for easy identification. Firstly, try to only bring in small quantities or as necessary. A simple first aid can include i.e. Diarrhea medicines, antacids, antihistamines, motion sickness, cough drops, decongestants, pain and fever relief, mild laxatives, bandages, and small antiseptic solutions accordingly. Lastly, don’t forget your masks and preferred sanitizer.
Bring a doctor’s prescription for other prescriptions that you may have as needed. Similarly, check for the allowed amount of quantity depending on your stay.
